She grew up in nearby Petersburg and attended PORTA schools.
She completed her bachelor of science in biology at the University of Illinois at Springfield.
She continued on to the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and graduated cum laude in 2011.
She practiced elsewhere locally before coming to Maurer Family Dental.
Dr. Kylea has been trained in the latest techniques and technologies.
She shares Dr. Maurer's dedication to the dental profession and to her patients.

The success of his two sisters, Sue and Joanne, in their dental careers and a strong desire to serve the greater public influenced him to eventually leave his career as a financial advisor and pursue dentistry.
He returned to the University of Illinois at Springfield to take prerequisite courses for dental school.
In 2011, Dr. Christopher Maurer graduated from the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine.
He and his wife, Trisha, purchased the house and property where the office is located that year and began the work of transforming it into a dental office.

This office was custom-designed by Dr. Maurer.
Originally a two-bedroom house, it was transformed by Dr. Maurer into a fully-functioning three-operatory dental office with front desk, laboratory, and a private office.
The office is also decorated throughout with several pieces of artwork by local artist George Colin.

The office is situated on a lot that is slightly larger than one acre.
In 2012, we started our prairie garden with plants purchased at the Lincoln Memorial Gardens Garden Prairie Wildflower Sale.
