Dr. Dalton Harding is an enthusiastic healthcare provider who has been committed to helping patients here in the Pacific Northwest achieve peak oral health for the last several years. He grew up in Cheney, WA before attending Washington State University for his undergraduate education Go Cougs! From there, he and his wife moved to New York City, where he attended dental school at New York University.

Hello, and thanks for your interest in Downriver Smiles. For the past 10 years, I have been honored to serve my patients at this office in the beautiful Audubon neighborhood. I was born at Sacred Heart and spent my entire childhood in Spokane. I owe that to my parents decision to move up from California so my mom could go to dental hygiene school here at Eastern Washington University. And while having a dental hygienist as my mother may seem like the start of my eventual journey to dentistry, it actually began with her father who was a dentist. He practiced in a time before masks and gloves, and my mom distinctly remembers handling mercury with her bare hands while working for him in high school! Fortunately, she still has all of her fingers.

Everyone in this office has been great! The Dr and even the front office staff are wonderful. However I want to give a shout out and a five star review specifically for Stacey. I have severe pain in my lips because of an ongoing condition. Her compassionate care and thinking out side the box (having me hold my own lip) made ALL THE DIFFERENCE. Something NO ONE had even suggested before. She’s truly someone whose compassion and professionalism set a new high bar for dental care!! THANK YOU!! ❤️❤️❤️

Dr. Gaunt is the best dentist I’ve encountered in 70 years. I’ve been in the Spokane area for 19 years and seen four dentists. Several years ago, I found my “home” with Dr. Gaunt.
He’s great at his “job”, highly ethical, and very kind. His staff is also friendly, kind, and very helpful!
They are truly a blessing! You won’t find a better dental group ! I give them my highest recommendation.

I visited Down River Smiles after I had a bad experience with a different north side provider. After the initial consultation with Dr. Harding at Down River Smiles, I felt confident in his knowledge and skills. Dr. Harding demonstrated empathy and care throughout the entire process. His goal was to ensure I would be happy with the results. Dr. Harding explained each step throughout the process, and he demonstrated a great deal of patience. Additionally, Dr. MaCall, the owner of this practice, was involved in the initial consultation and in the surgery. Both these Doctors were exceptional. I would highly encourage anyone who is searching for a dentist to choose Dr Harding at Down River Smiles.
Additionally, the entire office staff at Down River Smiles are exceptional. They are also very knowledgeable, friendly and willing to answer any questions. I have been going to Dr Gaunt for about 6 years. I am 66 years old and have always had VERY difficult teeth. They are soft, cavity prone, sensitive and to top that off I have Sjogrens which makes my mouth dry. It doesn’t help that I brush and floss 2-3 times a day!
Dr Gaunt has always helped me in any way he could to save my teeth. He has done so many fillings, crowns, implants and a lower implant denture was done. Today he put an implant where I lost a front tooth from biting in to a piece of See’s candy! The implant looks and feels great.
Today he suggested a new device to hopefully stop the cavities-even the ones that can form at the top of my crowns. That is being made and I’ll get that device the 1st of October.
Also, I must say that Dr Gaunt always calls and checks to see how I’m feeling after a difficult extraction or surgery. I haven’t had a dentist that has done that in years!!

I really appreciated how Downriver Smiles was able to get me in so quickly and take care of a problem tooth especially as a new client. I typically have a lot of anxiety going to the dentist, but Dr. Harding and his staff made the experience as comfortable as they could. Dr. Harding also takes pride and great care in his work. I can't say enough about Downriver Smiles, from the moment you enter the office, the front gals are so friendly and full of smiles. You will be well taken care of with the tender and efficient dental hygienists. One that especially comes to mind is Ms. Tess Hart. Not only is she extremely professional bust she is so sweet and really cares about you. Dr. Gaunt is very methodical and systematic and noticed I needed a crown and some other things taken care of. We scheduled those and he did them all in one day. I trust him completely! Schedule your visit with the best dentists and dental hygienists in town! You will not be disappointed.
